Last Human
An Interactive Art Piece

Associate Artist, Columbia University Digital Storytelling lab
June 2025 - Present
LAST HUMAN is a participatory art and education project
from Columbia’s Digital Storytelling Lab. It uses live
performance, interactive installations, and playful workshops to
help audiences make sense of what it feels like to be a person
on an internet that is increasingly populated by boths, AI-
generated content, and algorithmic doubles of ourselves.
The project is built in public. Rather than making a finished
show, LAST HUMAN unfolds through a series of prototypes at
places like Lincoln Center, Museum of the Moving Image,
and MAD Arts Museum Miami where audiences step into the
experience as both witnesses and collaborators. Each prototype
teaches us something new about the work and about the
technology it engages, and each one is documented in an
open-source zine so that anyone can follow the process, remix
it, or build on it themselves
As an Associate Artist at the Digital Storytelling Lab, I have
contributed to LAST HUMAN as a design, developer, and
performer. I have protoypes interactive web experiences
that audiences engage with on their phones, laptops, and
in physical space. I have led and assisted public workshops
that introduce partipants to how these technologies
actually work. And I am a credited contributor to the LAST
HUMAN zine series, which documents the project’s ongoing
thinking and public prototyping.
The piece I am most closely associated with under LAST
HUMAN umbrella is Seance, a participatory performance I
created and presented at Lincoln Center in December
2025. It has also been presented at a conference for AI at
Columbia University.
